Another StarWars MMORPG, eh?

Hmmmmm, followed by much rubbing of my chin, and further hmmmm’s

StarWars Glaxies was one of the first MMORPG’s thgat became really popular, but it died a slow and painful death. Why?

Well lets look at LucasArts and their approach to games. I am of the belief that LucasArts in their struggles to make great games end up handicapping themselves. Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy. Great games built on the quake engine. And they were commercial successes. But their after life was next to nill

I am part of a group that uses both of the above, and other LA products (TIE Xwing vs Tie Fighter, X-Wing Aliance) and all of them have 0 after-life and almost no support from LA. Jesus, if they even let the source code of TIE and XvT out, im certain that there would be a huge surge in their popularity!

But i digress. Will a new MMORPG from LA be any good? Given the results of Galaxies, I will not be holding my breath.
