I am recently just back from a weekend break with my better half. We were in, as you can probably guess, Edinburgh

Im going to handle the hotel in a different post

We had an amazing time altogether. It is a beautiful city, and i suppose our first tourist tour really spoiled us, as it was amazing. We took one of the open top bus tours, and we were the only ones on the bus, it was the first of the day, so that, and it being a friday, probably accounted for the poor numbers. It was great, a Mac Tours bus. I didnt catch the name of the guy on the mic, but he sat in front of us, we sat up the top at the very front! He was deadly, very funny, and had plenty of little anecdotes of his own! :)

From this tour we were able to plan out the rest of the trip, seeing briefly all the great sights of edinburgh, the Castle of course, but also the new town, and all the amazing architecture of the town, it really is breath taking.

After that trip we wandered around the centre of edinburgh, taking in the Balmoral and Princes Street. My better half had planned this well, and a fair had setup on the side of princes street for christmas. It had a german market and various amusements, including a ferris wheel! Some nice stuff there. We saw some interesting sculptures on the street, including one of all of edinburgh, which i thought was cool. Went into theScottish Art Museum after that. Didnt do a whole lot for either of us, but at least we could saw we went there, thought little of it! :)

After that we went to the edinburgh dungeon! It was deadly! B was terrified, but i was loving it. It was really good, the actors were very funny, and a bit weird!

We had lunch in an Italian place about half way up the Royal Mile, it was lovely, i had spaghetti and meat balls, it was really lovely!

We went for a stroll around teh palce after that, and to be honest i cant differentiate the days! :) B will kill me for that!

Friday night we ate in the restaurant in the basement of the hotel. It was amazing, the staff were superb. The restaurant is called Haldanes, www.haldanesrestaurant.com, and it was just brilliant. The service is so amazing in the place, and it was quite reasonable. I had the venison, it was delicious, and B had the risotto, made with mushrooms, so i have no idea how that tasted!! :)

We had a great start to our break. We reflected on the day in front of a roaring fire with some tea and fudge!

Today was an amazingly shitty day in the Corporate Zombie world

Yesterday, after my lovely trip to Edinburgh with my better half, i found out that work is getting slack, and some people have to work three day weeks. Thats pretty shit

On the way home i was stuck behind a queue of traffic, and as i was about to overtake, my turbo unit in the van would not respond, and i had no power. It took me over an hour to get home. That was quite shit

While at home i managed to break a cup while stacking the dishwasher, that was fairly shit

I got up this morning and went to the bathroom. On the landing was a mouse. My house has mice. That is bloody shit

I got into work this morning and things were going ok. Then i went to check my bank balance, and Vodafone, the cunts, have screwed me for the second month running. A major review of their service is pending. That was fucking shit

Then at lunch time, while i was paying for my new mouse trap, i discovered that my laser card was missing. This was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back, killed his family in a freak straw related disaster, which in turn deprived a local community of its transportation across the desert, which destroyed said community, this in turn lead to a major depression in the country where this community was located, and many many more communities were lost due to lack of interest in their camels, or the straws on their backs

…..

My sister found my laser card

On the way back from the job i was just on, my turbo kicked in again

is that a herd of camels i hear making their way to a depressed and nearly suicidal country…
