Sonicwall tz100 layer 2 transparent mode for purpose of web filtering

So you have a nice router in place that has no effective content filtering. You want to put some in but arent sure what to do

Get a tz100 with filtering. Set it up in layer 2 transparent mode. Put it physicall between your router and network. Job done!

Galaxy s i9000 upgrade to gingerbread

So i had my galaxy with android 2.2 froyo

It was bloody slow and lag

I upgraded to 2.3.3 gingerbread and the difference is staggering. Its like going from vista to windows 7

and it is very easy to do

Fuel is on average 1.50 per litre. I have been informed by a service station manager that its going to go up by 6 cents shortly. Why? Why are we being crucified at the pumps?

I know over half the cost is taxes, but can the govt afford to reduce this vital intake?

We need a new fuel source for our vehicles. Perhaps biofuels? We can even grow and refine it ourselves!!

Weird memory issue in SBS2003 and sbs monitoring

My SBS 2003 server has been acting funny for a little while. One of the sqlsrvr.exe processes was taking up a lot of memory and CPU. So a did a quick google, and found this

Seems that the memory allocation for the sbsmonitoring sql process is a bit generous with its RAM!

Exchange 2003 and error 454 5.7.3

The error is along the lines of
454 5.7.3 Client does not have permission…

The reason for this is if you disable Anonymous access in the Authentication area of your SMTP Connector. Why would you do this you ask? On my hunt to disable Relaying in Exchange 2003, i unchecked this. The problem is that anyone sending email to your exchange server is now stopped, as they wont authenticate against your server.

Disabling Relay is a matter of going to the Relay area, removing all items from the IP addresses, setting the radio button to “Only the list…” and check the bottom about authenticated computers

Do you want a quick test? Telnet in from an outside machine to your exchange server. Try to send an email to someone outside of the server from someone outside of the server, if it lets you, relaying is still enabled
