Well its the day that makes men around the world shit themselves.

What is your take on this day? Here is mine (or as my better half would say, my rant)

I hate Valentines Day. Its not the commercialism, its not the cutesy wootsey hearts and cupids and shite, its that it make every other thing that ive done on the 364 other days of the year mean exactly fuck all. And that is what gets my goat. All the little things ive done are made to look like absolutely nothing because fucking Hallmark, and the majority women themselves (try and deny it), propagate this fake holiday for no bloody reason what so ever...

Now a lot of women out there are immediately going "you prick how dare you pick on us" but exactly how many of you will be annoyed if you get nothing? 100% i would dare say. But why? Why are you getting mad? Why arent you getting mad every other day he doesnt get flowers and stuff? Its cos you've been brainwashed to thinking that you should get mad, so stop it, go have a shower, and tell him to keep his money so the two of you can feck off somewhere nice for a weekend. thats my intention, and Valentines be damned

Serious or funny responses please, any "jimmy, cop on" will be met with ban and account deletion, im not messin, Valentines gets me angry and pissed off, dont push it.

I'm with you on this on J-bone.
The whole thing does my head in. The commericalism is one thing that bothers me another is the inflation. Go to a resturant a wk before and a wk after and you'll find priice hikes of over 50%. And whats wosre you are paying for 2 meals that would not prepared as well as the meals youd get the wk before, becuase A) the resturant is 10 times more busy abd the chef is under more pressure B) chances are the waiting staff will be resentful of ye for making them work and ruining the night out they had planned with their other half or C) the waiting staff is currently single or just out of a relationship and is bitter to everything couply and will spit in your food as soon as look at you. And anyway like Jimmy said if you want to be really romantic it shouldn't be forced. Fuck it if ye think its romantic if your told you have buy flowers on this day and that your not if you don't
What if you buy flowers for the other 364 days of the year. Does it not make you romanitc then if you don't buy them on Feb 14th. Fuck NO.

So I say women get over it. Stop looking at the TV shite and everything else. Things like this shouldn't be judged on a single dday of the year but the whole year

That is true Jen, but do you buy your guy anything every day to show him you love him? No, I just show the woman i love that i love her. And she knows it. And she loves me, and i know it.

flowers are a nice gesture, but i just wont be told by some CEO of Hallmark that i should send them on a specific day. Its just crap. Maybe its me being a stubborn bollox, but i dont care, i will give flowers when i give them, and no being on earth will tell me otherwise.

I think if your single it's a real pain, it acts as a reminder to single people of how long you've been single, kinda like an anniversery or something.

However I have a solution. An anti Valentines day party. NO Love allowed, no red or pink crep paper or cut out hearts or slow sets. Just singles, loads of drink and happy music with plenty of devilment
