I bought an iPod.

i bought it as a present for Barbara, for her birthday (dont worry, she already knows, she's known for a while)

So i unpacked it this morning. Its really nice looking. Its smaller than expected, lighter too.

I plugged it into my PC in work, expecting a torrent of shite.

Luckily i own a full copy of Winamp 5.5, and it now has iPod handling in it.

Lo and behold, it all just worked. Copying files is as simple as two clicks of the mouse button. There is a "complete sync" method also available.

So, i am left in something of a quandry. Those of you that know me know how stubborn i am, and how much of an anti-follow-the-herd type i am. Infact, i beleive i once mentioned the words "burning pit" and "iPod users should be thrown into a" in a sentence.

Those of you who have seen the movie Hi Fidelity will understand the following (and also get the subject of the thread). I currently feel like Jack Black in the scene where they get the demo tape from the Kinky Wizards.

"Its really, really good"

edit - Changed the name of the guys in Hi Fidelity

IPods are great lad, got one from Santa (Joan) two years ago, i'm not big into gadgets or accessories but it's one piece of kit i couldn't have gone without, especially as i used to travel by train and bus a lot. Never understood you ipod phobia tbh but in my book they're better than mp3 players.

anyways if you need to be anti follow the herd, hate the iphone instead :lol:

And the band in high fidelity was called the kinky wizards and they are really, really good. but not as good as sonic death monkey :lol:

The Kinky Wizards? No, think they were just actors lad. Might be musicans in real life, i dunno. Aphex Twin is just one guy. He was born in Limerick believe it or not, might explain the mad nature of his music.

Oh Right

I found some youtube vids floating around of deleted scenes with AphexTwin in them, not sure if they meant the music in the background or what!

is it just his music in the background or is he in the scenes with the actors?

Ok, i am justified in my hatred of Apple

Tey go and make something that is easy as hell to use (the iPod) then insist on the monstrosity that is iTunes.

In work yesterday i used Winamp to copy music to the iPod. Three clicks, done and done.

I spent about 3 hours last night trying to use iTunes. And managed to wipe the music off of the iPod before i could copy stuff over.

iPod = Nice

itunes = cock

to quote the great Dr. mit bridders Phd, Beng, man about town and say, "get away from the keyboard, you're hands are just too dumb". ITunes is a doddle to use lad, just takes a bit of getting used to as it's different to Winamp is all.

I got B the iPod Classic, 80GB one. I like the look of it altogether, handles video and everything, but i might get something else that handles different video formats and the like. We'll see.
